| ABOUT MONASHEE |
| I was born at 2:22 am in the month of May, in a tee-pee in the interior of British Columbia, Canada. My childhood was filled with fairies and make believe and forts and imaginary kingdoms. I have lived in Vancouver, Toronto and Chicago, where I procured a shiny BFA degree at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. I now live in Los Angeles, CA with my fish Bubbs. Photography was not my first passion. I initially fell in love with acting, but quickly discovered that I was far more interested in observing than I was in performing, and these are the skills I nurtured. When I first picked up a camera at age 16, I was amazed I had not discovered this tool of observation before. To see something was one thing. To see something, and interpret it through the lens was quite another. My work varies from the ethereal and romantic, to the conceptual and poetic. I strive to create beautiful and magical images with a touch of reality and honesty. |
